DANI HUISMAN

Hey everyone! Meet our coach and president of the Smithers Ringette Association-Dani Huisman!
Dani has played ringette all her life, starting as a kid in her home town of Rockyford, AB. She played for a Canadian team that did a European tour in 2006 and played for MRU in Calagry for her university years. She has played on many other teams in BC and Alberta, has started teams and has coached all ages over the years. When Dani knew she was moving to Smithers in the summer of 2023, she started brainstorming about how to start Ringette in Smithers!
She is excited to hit the ice (and the gym) to help kids learn about the game, have fun, and make lifelong friendships!

Hey Everyone, I'm Coach Emily!
I was born and raised in the Bulkley Valley and reside in Houston BC! At age four I started playing ringette and hockey. I ended up sticking with ringette because of my love towards the game and the friendships I built. My favorite memories growing up was traveling with my team to tournaments. The bonds I made with my teammates and coaches are unmatched.
I'm excited for the opportunity to help bring ringette to Smithers.
The most important rule of ringette is to have fun!! Can't wait to see all those big smiles on the ice:)

Hello! I’m Coach Mal! I’ve had the privilege of growing up in the beautiful Bulkley Valley for all 27 years of my life! I have always had a love for sports and spent a lot of my time on the ice! Started out a player in Ringette at age four and grew a love for the game playing goalie in my later years in the sport! My fondest memories growing up consisted of attending Ringette Provincials, creating team chants and having the most fun with my team!
Giving back to the community supporting Ringette in our little town is something I’m grateful to be apart of! Cannot wait to see you all on the ice!

Hey Everyone! I’m Coach Jaden!
I was born and raised in Prince George BC. I like hiking and 4x4ing and I Love Ringette! Ringette has been a staple in my family for generations! My Mother and Aunty both played Ringette and taught their children to love the sport as much as they did. I started out as a bunny in Ringette at four years old. I fell in love with the sport and made life long friendships! With the help of many great coaches, my skills developed quickly and I had the privilege to play the game at a higher caliber - bringing home many provincial medals. Some of my best memories growing up were from going on tournaments with my team, getting to travel with the team and bonding with my ringette family. I stopped playing as a young adult as life got busy. Now I have moved to the Bulkley Valley and I am ready to share my passion for ringette with the beautiful town of Smithers.I am excited for the new adventures this will bring the Smithers area, and for the new Ringette community we will build. See you all on the ice!
